Objective:

To learn about systems that do not have exactly one solution.

Notes:

A system of linear equations has three answer possibilities:
  1. Exactly one solution - the lines intersect at one point.
  2. No solution - the lines do not intersect (they are parallel).
  3. Many solutions - the lines are the same.
Up to this point all of our problems have had exactly one solution. In this lesson we will see problems which have no solution or many solutions.

Examples:

  1. Ex 1
    Ex 1

  2. Ex 2
    Ex 2
